As a part of Capital Metro’s tri-annual service review process, we are proposing minor changes that would be effective August 2015. These service proposals would serve primarily as adjustments to changes implemented in June 2015. Additionally, the proposed August 2015 changes are designed to address school year demand and create a more efficient transit system.

Capital Metro routinely makes changes according to school and university calendars to accommodate ridership. Select school-related trips would be reinstated on E-Bus, UT Shuttles and some Local routes.

The proposal will go before the Capital Metro board of directors on April 27. If approved, the changes would take effect Sunday, August 23, 2015.

Capital Metro invites ongoing feedback year-round about overall service and we meaningfully incorporate customer input in the service change development process. We are dedicated to meeting the public transit needs of the Central Texas area and understand first-hand the need to relieve congestion on our streets and provide quality transportation options to our fellow citizens.

Select school-related trips would be reinstated on the following routes to address demand during school year:

  • 4 Montopolis
  • 5 Woodrow/South Fifth
  • 7 Duval/Dove Springs
  • 20 Manor/Riverside
  • 300 Govalle
  • 331 Oltorf

School-related trips would not be reinstated on Route 325 Ohlen in August due to possible increased frequency beginning June 2015. Instead, the route would run every 15 minutes during mornings and afternoons, providing extra service during school trips.

Capital Metro may implement minor changes to some routes in order to improve service and maintain reliability. As Capital Metro further evaluates overall service in advance of the August Service Change, please note that specific changes could include adjustments to time-points, trip times and bus stops.
